Faux Silk Embrace

When I first started this card, I wasn't sure about the results. I had read the tutorial on Split Coast Stampers and thought I'd give it a whirl. I like this technique and it wasn't difficult at all. To create this card I used the Embrace Life set, white tissue paper, Wild Wasabi, Lavender Lace, Confetti, and Pretty in Pink card stock. I also used a circle rhinestone brad, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Aqua Painter, and silver organdy ribbon (retired).
First, I crumpled my tissue paper and opened it. I stamped the images and used a Aqua Painter to fill in the leaves (Wild Wasabi) and the petals (Pretty in Pink and Lavender Lace) of the flower. I set the paper aside to allow the images to dry. I stamped images on the Confetti card stock in Lavender Lace and filled in the image with the same color using the Aqua Painter. I punched the corners of the Confetti and Lavender Lace card stock with the Ticket Punch and layered the two. I then punched the tag with the Circle Punches in Confetti and Pretty in Pink card stock and set it aside. I took my larger Confetti card stock, using a glue stick, I covered it entirely and smoothed my image on top and trimmed the edges. I then cut out the two floral images, glued the backs of those and placed them. I layer these images on Wild Wasabi card stock. The Confetti and Lavender layer was attached to the card. A silver organdy ribbon was layered on top of that and tied in a knot. The Wild Wasabi and Confetti with images was layered on top. I stamped "Celebrate" from Fancy Flexible Phrases on the tag, attached the rhinestone brad and adhered to card using Stampin' Dimensionals. The card is complete. Not bad for my first try.

Certainly Geared Birthday

Happy New Year All!!!
This card was created when my body was on shut down mode. It was January 4th, my dear husband's birthday, and I had a fever of 102 and bronchitis. I was feeling terrible because I was ill but I felt even worse because I was sick on my husbands birthday. I had taken the day off from work and had planned on spending the day with him and taking him out to dinner but my body was shutting down fast. Before I hit bottom, there was just enough creative juice left to create this card. I used the It's About Time (retired) set. I purchased this set because I loved it but I had never used it until now.
I used Certainly Celery, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Outlaw Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Dimensionals (gives the gears height), Ticket Corner Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch and Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon. I also used Really Rust and So Saffron stamp pads.
I was surprised at the outcome of the card. I think I'll put this in my "really love it pile".
