Big Stinkin Deal Birthday

This card was created for my sister Emily's birthday. She is the baby of our family and she is "STINKIN" spoiled. Regardless, we are the best of friends and I wouldn't trade her or my older sister for any amount of wealth in this world. (Well maybe a couple of good stamp sets. Just kidding!) For this card I used the Stinkin' Cute stamp set, Baroque Motifs stamp set, Sage Shadow, Certainly Celery, Outlaw Designer Series Paper, and Whisper White cardstock. I also used the On Board Blossoms and Basics. I just love these. The stamp pads that were used for this project were Really Rust, Soft Sky, River Rock, and Sage Shadow. I first stamped my skunk in Really Rust and then used the "pad to paper" technique with the Soft Sky, River Rock, and Sage Shadow. I used the Outlaw paper for the petals and center of the flower. They were adhered to the paper and then cut out. The edges were then sanded using a Stampin' Up! sanding block to make them smooth and to give them a rustic look. Using Chocolate Chip, I stamped the "Big Stinkin Deal" on the center. Well, the petals looked a little plain so I used the Chocolate Chip Craft pad. stamped the swirls from the Baroque Motifs set and applied a little silver embossing powder. Ohh... Ahhh... I loved the results. I used the Sage Shadow as the base and the Outlaw Designer Series paper on top. Next, I mounted the skunk image over the Certainly Celery and added a strip from the same Designer Paper. This was then mounted to the card and the flower was constructed and mounted. This card is just like her "Stinkin Cute".

Love the orange and those petals!!! YUMM. Also, I've never seen direct to paper distressing look so amazing. I never would have thought to blend colours like that: brilliant! :0) Mel
